SUMMER INTO DUST 2011

Summer Into Dust was a one-off, kaleidoscopic, crowd-fueled installation at the 2011 Coachella Music and Art Festival. The piece manifested the emotional connection between the audience and the musicians as a visual spectacle of physical interactivity.

During Arcade Fire’s last song “Wake Up,” a cascade of balls waterfalled over the top of the stage and into the crowd. Suspended in the center of each ball was a remote control LED array and location aware IR reciever.

Shenanigans ensued.
